Wimbledon Theatre opened with a pantomime of Jack and Jill on 26th December 1910. It was very popular through the first 20 years of the theatre's life. It almost faced closure in 1965 as a direct result of WW II, but luckily it was bought by the local authority who went on to renovate it, and it reopened in 1968.
